Same can be said about Israel - can’t defeat lightly armed militias in Gaza despite the horrendous loss of civilian life, yet is now gearing up for a major confrontation with the much more powerful Hizbollah, an organization which has kicked the IDF out Lebanon twice in 2000 and 2006. Add to that the flight of people and capital from Israel, and its loss of international standing due to genocidal behaviour. Yet the US and EU are so deeply tied to, and continue to tolerate and support this rogue state as it goes further down the road of its own self-destruction. I’m convinced that the snivelling war hawks like Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton have no special love of Israel, but only see it as a useful tool to keep the region in turmoil which serves the maintaining of US hegemony.
