A very important point for the future of BRICS and the perspective of a better and more balanced world. Obviously if Iran has had ready nuclear weapons, it would be not suffering such an attack, because basically nuclear weapons serve for militar deterrence.
The attack was not for the nuclear scam propaled by the westerners, but for regional (and its resources) dominance, and global imperial dominance as well. And it served to for a BRICS´s answer test, of course.
The hegemony war is going on. Better not to remain excited about the achieved militar deterrence by iranians, and to be prepared for the nexts rounds, including all the sorts of "intelligence" operations by the mossad and regional circunstancial allies to eroded the iranian government, their murdering plans, the "maffia style" threats to the militars in high positions (to be killed with family and friends alltogether if they don´t collaborate with the plots of internal sabotages), terrorist attacks, and the whole repertory of violence and deceptions and media war ....
Better to be prepared, and as you said so well, militarly prepared as a whole BRICS, for deterrence.
Not only the climate is fed up with Empire bombs. Public health is in equally grave danger.
To wit: the "cuts to aid funding by the US, Britain and others [which] could jeopardise decades of progress in protecting against, and eliminating, key infectious diseases ....
Increased suspicion of vaccines, especially since the Covid pandemic, is already eroding immunisation efforts in developed countries. The impact of waning immunisation in lower-income countries could be even graver. From its creation until 2023, for example, [the international vaccine alliance] Gavi helped to vaccinate more than 1.1 bn children in 78 countries ... "
(Financial Times, A test for global public health. The decline in funding for vaccinations poses a worldwide threat, 25 Jun 2025).
I think it is fair to say that the West, having decided to rearm and go to war against the Global South, avails itself of the convenient (of course no one says this, but everyone means it: final) solution of denying decent healthcare to the Global South's human population, thereby effecting the murder of those it deems undesirable, or, in Hillary Clinton's words, "deplorables". Behold, the weaponization of healthcare, American style, applied globally on an industrial scale (how Nazi). In addition to sanctions and bombs.
1) You will notice, if you look, that the "Signal" scandal, which published the exchange of Trump's top advisors, indicated that there was NO discussion. Trump arrived at his decision, to bomb Yemen, what to target precisely, with what, and when, without conferring with ANY of his advisors. How does that work????
2) JD Vance says the exact same occurred with the decision to bomb Iran.
3) Trump overtly rejected his own intelligence. On whose intelligence did he rely? And why are we asking that question? IE How is it that he didn't think to mention who his preferred source of intel is? We are told that he relied upon his "gut". Which is preposterous. Trump has zero patience, tolerance, or talent for such intricate detail.
4) Obviously, all the discussion and decision making, regarding timing, targets, and ordinance, was done by Israel.
5) Jeffrey Sachs observes that the MO, utilized by Israel, of infiltrating drones etc. across Iran's borders, for years in advance of their attack upon Iran, was identical to that used to target Russian bombers deep inside Russia. Sachs concludes that Mossad planned and executed both.
6) Sachs also say that Israel has dictated US foreign policy for 30 years (I would argue MUCH longer)
7) HOW THE HELL DOES THIS TINY DOG-TAIL OF 9 MILLION PEOPLE WAG the multiple, relatively HUGE DOGS of the USA and the EU? Xjhankey@gmail.com
BRICS have still too much fragmentation economically let alone reaching a meaningful collective military deterrence! They should first get their act together economically with fissures or lack of consistent agenda for some of its members, including Brazil or even India! And I think of the UAE as quite suspect, maybe even there as a mole saboteur!
Iran is essential for BRICs, and for China’s BRI. If the US can “get Iran back” it can block China’s and Iran-Russia transport routes and once again string CIA bases along the Iran-Russia border.
There’s no question another attempt will be made on Iran. The ludicrous hopes of regime change via assassinations and bombs are dashed, but the still apparently safe or slightly damaged enrichment program remains a handy casus belli.
For the US the key issue is - given its declining power- the closing window for strategic sequencing to “knock out” Russia (to be handed over to the Europeans), Iran and China.
It's all so brittle, whatever will happen Russia is ready to be autarkic and I think the other BRICS
members should think about their true conveniences specially in the faithfulness of the West
to written contracts. I completely agree with you. patience.....my grandmother had plenty sayings
about patience. But imagine Russia's nuclear power in Milei's hands? Trump contracted lithium is
now in Russian hands, And what about titanium? I just hope that the cobweb that ties BRICS together shows it's strength. And their capacity to see where the real future is
Your Patagonian-Spanish follower
PS: I really enjoy the program that Kevork and you do together.
The weakness of BRICS arising from its lack of coherence has always been apparent, certainly to the strategists of the West. The old communist bloc was held together by a common ideology to which all its members subscribed (until they did not). The west is held together by its common heritage of European imperialism which is much stronger than one might suppose because it does not require equality among its members. In fact the opposite is the case. The western alliance is based on the unchallenged principle of subordination, rather as the German state was in the Nazi era (and Tarik might say no less today). All its members accept that one state will be dominant, and that there will be a hierarchy of subordination. Even those states at the very bottom of the pecking order, like the Realm of New Zealand to which my own people remain subject, explicitly accept the necessity for submission to the imperial powers. Out of this ethos of dominance and submission comes Mark Rutte's text to Donald Trump, perhaps the most amazingly blatant and unashamed demonstration of supine cowering before power that the world has ever seen. Like the Nazi war machine, this western military alliance draws its great strength from its most despicable attributes, and like the Nazi war machine it will only be defeated at great cost and over a long period of time, not by multi-polarity but by the common commitment of all those who value our humanity.
Correction: I wrote that the Realm of New Zealand is "at the very bottom of the pecking order" in the western alliance. That is obviously incorrect, as recent events have shown. The small state of the Cook Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean 3000 km to the northeast of Aotearoa (New Zealand) with a resident population of only 14,000 is currently being shamelessly bullied by the New Zealand government. Why? Because it entered into a partnership agreement with the Peoples Republic of China. Of course, New Zealand is not disaffected with the Cook Islands merely on its own account. It is channeling the rage of the US administration.
Will this be how the monstrous western alliance finally comes apart? By the resistance starting from the smallest and most vulnerable of states, leading up to the more powerful and capable players? Yemen and the Cook Islands, then Iran, then others to follow? Are the so called "proxies" in the wars of resistance actually leading humanity's fight,, just as the Israeli "proxy" of the US is the actual leading force in the brutal criminality of the west?
When I was in high school just over 50 years ago, I had a splendid history teacher who taught about the period of about 1848 through 1945, devoting ample time to Bismarck's policies, and thus his "Rückversicherungsvertrag" with Russia. (BTW: in my view, Herr Merz in Germany only knows his Blackrock. Not his Bismarck. How I wish it were the other way around... That will hurt him very much. Pursuing Germany's "Langer Weg nach Westen" (Winkler) while shutting the door to the East, Russia, forever is a blunder of epic proportions. That's the home-made German Tragedy, busy unfolding itself as we witness and discuss the current events.) This sounds perhaps a bit off topic within the context addressed here, yet I cannot rid myself entirely of thinking that we have entered the period in human history during which "Rückversicherung" is indeed needed again, more than ever, among those who are destined to forge a new way of living together as multi-nodal humanity, freeing it from the chains and yokes of the Colonial Era and its Powers, which the Empire defends with all its (still considerable, yet declining) might. I fully agree that BRICS will indeed do well to at least prepare themselves by means of mutual "Rückversicherungsverträge", i.e. make judicious haste in forming (a) military alliance(s) amongst each other in addition to the partnerships currently being developed and forged, in order to face the existential threat posed by the decaying Western Empire, which is the proverbial dying dragon spewing fire and sweeping its tail. This dragon must be domesticated rather than killed (as I understand the meaning of the iconography and legend of St. George). Because a dead dragon is even more dangerous, as there will always be those who want to reanimate it, - "auf Teufel komm raus". It is therefore prudent to keep it alive - deterred and contained, under strict and permanent armed observation.

I have a different take on this. I follow Economics NOT wars or bombs.
We have come to a point where the USA id dying.
Because of DIRE Education in the USA/they do not have the ability to keep producing weapons.
Boeing?
Most BRICS countries educate their populace/the US does not do this.
And as side note: all the FEMINISTS in the us/Western Empire do not understand how many women in these countries contribute to their Countries.
Just BOMB the USA and get shot of this Empire. I am tired (here in France) Trump comes to call: 5% of our revenue will go to supporting the USA. WHY?
Wake up Europeans. Align with Russia. US is dead.
BRICS will be the future and by the way: Keep this in your heart (everyone). The climate (nature) is fed up with your bombs.
More earthquakes/floods etc.
Not only the climate is fed up with Empire bombs. Public health is in equally grave danger.
