Israel’s Destruction of the Al-Shifa Hospital is Genocide, Again

The ongoing Gaza Genocide, committed against Palestinian victims by Israeli and Western perpetrators, is one sustained peak performance in unrestrained mass murder, frenzied racist sadism, and absurd lying. Even though, some events still stand out. One of them is the destruction of the Al-Shifa Hospital, which has just been completed.

Israel’s genocide forces have attacked the hospital twice, last November and again, between 18 March and 1 April of this year. While the first attack was brutal, the second one was worse, leaving behind a hellscape of ruins and hundreds of corpses. As Nora Barrows-Friedman at the Electronic Intifada has summed up the results of Israel’s assault, it “has turned the largest medical facility in the Gaza Strip into a charred wasteland, a slaughterhouse, a cemetery.” There is no hyperbole here. Even CNN – above the slightest suspicion of being anything but a pro-Israeli propaganda outlet – could not conceal or spin away a picture of enormous devastation and immense Palestinian suffering.
