Enjoyed reading this.

Just hope some more European countries break away from the chains of US hegemony.

I like everything you write - such clear-headed frank analysis is not something that can be found on "mainstream" Australian media where it seems that all the news has first been vetted by the US before appearing right across a public/private spectrum now seemingly "speaking" with one voice - on Ukraine, on the Zionists, on the US-provocations against China - because Australia is now run by the US - their bases on our soil, their control of our "think-tank" propaganda structures and oir business/mining corporations... Let me say that there are in Australia some on-line media independents who tell the truth. IndependentAustralia, NewMatilda, Pearls&Irritations, Caitlin Johnstone, Tim Dunlop, Antony Lowenstein, LE Thanh Truc - and Peoples Information Bureau - among others...

"neo-Cold Warriors" do have "their own primitive approach to international politics". It's

Manichaean: international politics is the struggle between the good liberal democracies (aka the collective West, with Japan, Australia, etc. as auxiliaries manning the front lines in Asia,) and the evil authoritarians,( Russia and China chiefly, with Iran and North Korea as their main auxiliaries). It's propagandistic framing to cover imperialist policies; policies frighteningly similar to those of the imperial powers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The difference is that now China and India are no longer struggling to throw off their colonizers, and each is improving relations with Russia in their own way, China more publicly and comprehensively, while India for its part has greatly increased its imports of Russian oil since February 2022. Multipolarity is becoming a fact, but how it all shakes out is unpredictable and remains to be seen.

I apologise for straying off topic, but time is both ripe and short. The ICJ’s ruling makes clear that it’s time for the IOC to ban Israel from the Paris Olympics. Unless the entrants can prove they are not settlers and/or have not participated in the illegal occupation. Let them know how you feel. https://oscttnet.olympics.com/en-us/request-form-create/

I whole-heartedly agree, FIFA should also ban Israel.

Turkey will eventually have to take a more aggressive approach on the issues in the Middle East. Freedom is never free anywhere in the world. As the conflict(s) escalate, Turkey will not be able to take a step back and remain neutral. When the world around you is on fire, you cannot just relax and take a deep breath.

If the world has changed so much since 1952, then the whole NATO project is already dead or should die. It can only serve anachronistic if not entirely destructive hegemonic interests. I don’t know how one can promote a multipolar world order yet remain a member of NATO without fundamentally changing its character and mission! And once that’s changed, even the name becomes irrelevant if not comical in a multipolar world. I don’t think Erdogan or any other NATO member can finesse their way to ultimately resolve such contradictions, no matter their rational intentions or political savvy!
